The X Games League has officially set the date for one of the most anticipated milestones in action sports: the inaugural XGL Summer Draft. On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the world’s top skateboarders and BMX riders will find out which of the league’s four new pro teams they will represent, marking the beginning of a new team-based era in skate and BMX competition.

The draft will take place at Cosm Los Angeles in Hollywood Park — an immersive 360° entertainment venue — and will stream live on ESPN+ via the ESPN App and on YouTube from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. PT. A limited number of fans will also have the chance to attend in person, with “Superfan” ticket details set to be released soon.

More than 150 elite athletes have declared for the draft. Each XGL team will select 10 riders (five men and five women) across five rounds in a snake-draft format. Every roster must include athletes from both skateboarding and BMX, ensuring a balance of styles and strengths across the league.

“Draft night plays a pivotal role in any professional athlete’s career, and the XGL Draft will mark the beginning of a new era for our athletes, teams, and fans,” said Annie Lokesh, Head of X Games League. “Transitioning from invitation-only events to a draft-based co-ed professional league is a major step forward for the next generation of action sports.”

Athletes will walk a red carpet prior to the event, and X Games platforms will feature spotlights and storytelling profiles leading up to draft night. Riders who are not selected will remain eligible for free-agent opportunities or injury call-ups during the season.

The X Games League is set to officially launch in 2026 with year-round, team-based competition featuring city-branded clubs, ongoing season standings, and expanded earning opportunities for athletes — a major structural shift from the traditional single-weekend event format that has defined action sports for decades.

The 2026 XGL summer season schedule and four inaugural Clubs will be announced at a later date. For more details about XGL, click here.
