The FIA and World Rally Cross have unveiled the calendar for the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship, confirming 14 rounds spanning four continents. The lineup continues the tradition of blending classic rally challenges with a commitment to global reach and diversity.
The season kicks off with Rallye Monte-Carlo from January 22 to 25, where crews will face France’s icy alpine roads in one of the sport’s most iconic settings. Adding to the excitement, a spectacular street stage in downtown Monte Carlo on Saturday night promises extra drama and glamour during the challenging weekend. The calendar delivers a mix of snow, gravel, and asphalt events, including the return of the Canary Islands and Paraguay rounds, introduced in 2025. The season concludes in Saudi Arabia's desert terrain from November 11 to 14.
The first half of the year offers a variety of surfaces. Asphalt rallies in Croatia, the Canary Islands, and Japan complement snowy stages in Sweden and gravel-based events in Kenya and Portugal, ensuring diverse and dynamic competition. Rally Japan’s shift to a May slot brings a strategic advantage, interrupting what would have been a long stretch of gravel rallies. This adjustment minimizes the impact of road sweeping for early championship leaders, reinforcing WRC’s dedication to fairer and more competitive conditions.
“This is a calendar built with purpose,” said WRC Promoter Managing Director Jona Siebel. “It’s diverse, it flows well, and it reflects the feedback we’ve had from teams, drivers, and stakeholders. Real thought has gone into how the sequence of events can impact the sporting fight.”
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem remarked, “The 2026 WRC calendar is a powerful reflection of the championship’s global strength and appeal. It combines the heritage of iconic rallies with the return of newer events in regions where interest in rallying and participation continue to grow.”
