Salt Lake City, UT – As the engines roar back to life, Nitrocross is set to make a triumphant return to Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC) for the second event of the 2025-26 season, reviving the electrifying spirit of its origins.
Scheduled for the weekend of October 5-6, this event promises adrenaline-fueled excitement, marking the fifth time Nitrocross graces the iconic track where it all began.
First opened in 2006, UMC has played host to a myriad of high-octane motorsport events, from top-tier sports car racing to thrilling motorcycle and drifting competitions. It was in 2018, during the Nitro World Games, that Nitrocross first emerged, quickly evolving into a full-season championship by 2021.
This year, UMC will once again be the stage for two exciting Nitrocross Championship Rounds over the weekend.Fans will witness the nail-biting action of the all-electric Group E category, the centerpiece of Nitrocross, showcasing the formidable FC1-X cars. With a staggering 1,000 horsepower and a blistering 0-60 time of just 1.5 seconds, these vehicles promise heart-stopping races that push the limits of speed and technology. Reigning champion Robin Larsson, fresh off a victory at Richmond Raceway, will be defending his title against front-runners Oliver Eriksson and Fraser McConnell, who are already making waves this season.
Adding to the competitive mix is the NEXT EVO class, the top development category featuring the newly introduced sustainably-fueled FC2 race cars. This class is already stirring up intrigue, with seasoned driver Mitchell DeJong making a comeback and 2023-24 champion Casper Jansson eager to regain his form.
The event isn't just about the racing. Nitrocross delivers a full festival experience with an open paddock layout, allowing fans an exclusive peek behind the scenes. Off-track entertainment includes Nitro Circus freestyle motocross shows, live music, and a bustling activation space filled with food trucks, gaming zones, and car displays.
Autograph sessions will give attendees the chance to meet their favorite drivers, while Club Nitro VIP offers an elevated experience with trackside amenities.
As the anticipation builds, a press conference on Thursday, October 3, at 3PM MDT will feature key Nitrocross personalities, available for viewing on multiple streaming platforms including Facebook and YouTube.
Tickets for the weekend are on sale at nitrocrossracing.com and the UMC Box Office, with live streaming available on rumble.com.
