You probably aren't getting behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car anytime soon.
A kart, some tacos and an afternoon watching a Grand Prix with a room full of F1 fans? That's considerably more achievable.
Grand Prix Plaza is heading into the final stretch of its 2026 public season with a full September schedule built around Formula 1 race replays, discounted experiences and a Mexican Independence Day celebration before the 39-acre complex closes Oct. 4 and begins its transformation for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
That leaves fans a little more than a month to explore F1 X, put in some laps at F1 DRIVE or simply grab a seat inside the F1 HUB Lounge and watch the championship unfold.
And September gives them several excuses to do exactly that.
Miss the Race? Watch It Again With Friends
Getting up at questionable hours to watch Formula 1 is practically part of being an American F1 fan.
Grand Prix Plaza has another option.
Its Grand Prix Sundays series brings select race replays to the F1 HUB Lounge, giving fans an opportunity to watch—or rewatch—the action at a slightly friendlier hour and with considerably more company.
September's schedule begins with the Italian Grand Prix on Sept. 6, followed by the Spanish Grand Prix on Sept. 13 and Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sept. 26.
Doors open at 11 a.m. Pacific for each event, with the race replay beginning at noon.
The series then gets one more unusual addition on Oct. 4 when Grand Prix Plaza shows the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The Bahrain Grand Prix is being held at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit this season after Formula 1, the FIA and the governments of Bahrain and Malaysia reached an agreement to relocate the event. So if you've ever wanted to watch the Bahrain Grand Prix from Malaysia while sitting in Las Vegas, 2026 has apparently decided to provide that opportunity.
Grand Prix Sundays will also feature giveaways for Clark County residents, including merchandise and tickets for Grand Prix Plaza experiences. Reservations are recommended.
Want to Do More Than Watch?
That's where F1 DRIVE comes in.
Grand Prix Plaza's karting experience puts visitors on a circuit built into the Las Vegas Grand Prix property, with a newly widened layout available during the current season.
No, nobody is going to mistake you for Max Verstappen.
Probably.
But it does provide a chance to do a little racing of your own before settling into the HUB to watch the professionals.
There's also F1 X, the complex's interactive Formula 1 exhibition featuring historical artifacts, memorabilia and hands-on attractions for anyone more interested in exploring the sport than chasing a lap time.
Together with the F1 HUB Lounge, the attractions have allowed Grand Prix Plaza to operate as more than the home of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
For most of the year, it's essentially a Formula 1 playground.
In October, it starts becoming a race venue again.
College Students Get a Break
Formula 1 isn't exactly famous for being inexpensive, so college students may appreciate this one.
Through Oct. 4, active college students can receive Nevada locals pricing on F1 DRIVE and F1 X through Grand Prix Plaza's back-to-school promotion.
Students purchasing online can use the code STUDENT and will need to present a valid college ID when entering.
It's a nice excuse to put the textbooks down for a few hours.
We're not suggesting skipping class.
We'll leave that decision between you and your professor.
Convention in Vegas? Bring Your Badge
Grand Prix Plaza is also targeting the steady stream of business travelers coming through Las Vegas.
Visitors attending a Las Vegas meeting, convention or corporate event can take advantage of the Show Your Badge promotion.
Present a valid event badge at the Grand Prix Plaza box office and you'll receive Nevada locals pricing on attraction tickets, including F1 X and F1 DRIVE.
Which means that convention badge hanging around your neck may finally be useful for something besides reminding you which ballroom you're supposed to be in.
Tacos, Tequila and Mexican Independence Day
Things get a little more festive from Sept. 11-16.
Grand Prix Plaza will celebrate Mexican Independence Day with limited-time food and drink specials at F1 HUB.
The menu includes three street-style chicken tinga tacos for $14.99, made with chipotle chicken tinga, pickled onion and pepper, shredded cabbage, cotija cheese and scallion crema.
There's also the El Grito Rojo, a $20 cocktail mixing tequila, lime super juice and hibiscus syrup.
It's a relatively small addition to the month's activities, but it fits what Grand Prix Plaza is increasingly trying to become: somewhere F1 fans can hang out rather than simply an attraction they visit once.
Grab some food. Watch a race. Argue about strategy.
You know, the normal Formula 1 experience.
One Last Lap Before Race Preparations Begin
There's one date visitors should keep in mind.
Oct. 4.
That's the final day Grand Prix Plaza will remain open to the public before the property closes for Las Vegas Grand Prix preparations.
Until then, operating hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Food service at F1 HUB begins at 11 a.m. and continues until closing.
Then the mood changes.
Grand Prix Plaza isn't simply located near the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The complex contains the state-of-the-art pit building used by Formula 1 during race week and sits at the heart of the Grand Prix operation.
So the karts, exhibitions and casual race-watch atmosphere eventually have to make way for the real thing.
That's what makes September a particularly good time to visit.
Formula 1 will be racing around the world, Grand Prix Sundays will keep the screens busy in Las Vegas and fans still have a few weeks to find out whether they're actually as quick behind the wheel as they've been telling everyone.
Just remember: the barriers at F1 DRIVE don't care how fast you are on the PlayStation.
