Giocar America Launches GBrakes, Ushering in a New Era of High-Performance Motorcycle Braking

After more than 30 years serving as Galfer USA’s master distributor, the Milesi family is taking the next bold step: launching GBrakes, a dedicated high-performance line of braking components for V-Twin, sport & street, dirt, and dual-sport motorcycles. What might sound like a rebrand is really the evolution of a brake dynasty, one steeped in technical innovation and racing credibility.

GBrakes, led by CEO Sandro Milesi, brings with it over 70 years of family expertise in braking technology. The story begins in 1952, when Maffio Milesi founded Galfer in Barcelona, originally producing drum brake linings and clutch discs in an era when safety and raw stopping power were becoming more essential in motorsports and vehicles alike. Over time, Galfer became a leader in brake disc pads, pioneering innovations like aramid fiber blends in the 1970s (replacing asbestos), later moving into wave rotor designs and sintered pad materials that help dissipate heat and improve performance. In 1992, Sandro’s father, Giorgio Milesi, brought Galfer innovation to the U.S., founding Galfer USA (also known as Giocar America). For decades the company built a reputation among riders, builders, and performance dealers for reliable rotors (including the Wave rotors) and custom steel-braided brake lines—products that racers and street riders alike count on for performance and durability. Now, under the GBrakes brand, the company is doubling down on its own product development. They’re launching an all-new website (www.GBrakes.com), full product lines including premium laser-cut rotors, performance brake pads, steel braided lines, and full kits. Riders will also be able to customize rotor configurations (especially for V-Twins) and get made-to-spec brake lines through online configurators. Dealers and custom shops will benefit from U.S.-based customer service and support, which has long been a strength of the Milesi operation. Powersports Business

“We are excited to announce our strategic shift to focus solely on developing our own brand of braking systems,” said Sandro Milesi. “We’ve taken everything we’ve learned over the past seven decades from my father and grandfather and evolved it into something new with GBrakes—while still maintaining the same commitment to performance, same passion for supporting the rider communities and, of course, delivering the best customer service.”

The transition comes at a crucial moment in motorcycling culture. Riders are increasingly looking for high-performance components that are tailored to their use—track, off-road, custom builds. Steel-braided brake lines, precision rotors, and better pad compounds can markedly improve feedback, consistency under repeated braking, and heat management (areas where softer OEM components tend to suffer). Also, as custom bike building grows, so does demand for parts that can be tuned to fit specific setups—which GBrakes’ configurator tools will support.

GBrakes products are already available at GBrakes.com, and through major distributors such as Parts Unlimited, Drag Specialties, and Western Power Sports. For many in the community, this signals more than just a name change—it’s a promise of greater control, better stopping power, and a brand with heritage finally operating fully in its own lane.
