Racing through Holland.

While the F1 calendar is on hold, fans can still enjoy the Circuit Zandvoort atmosphere with this new video courtesy of Red Bull.

Unfortunately, racing is still on hold. But, there seems to be a growing light at the end of the COViD-19 tunnel and if we all continue to do our part, we will be back to racing again.

This weekend was supposed to be the first Dutch Grand Prix for 35 years, and Max Verstappen’s first home Grand Prix in the Netherlands. Not only would it be his first time racing in his home country, but he would be experiencing the race for the first time ever as well since the race has never run in his lifetime (22 years old).

But with the race postponed because of the current health circumstances, Verstappen and his teammate Alex Albon went on a special road trip to make a little racing happen at the Circuit Zandvoort in two Red Bull Racing RB7s and RB8s.

“If we can’t race then I think it’s great to put something out there for our fans,” Verstappen said. “It’s very cool to show everyone a bit of Holland with this Dutch Road Trip. Normally you only see F1 cars on a race track but we do crazy stuff on snow and on the beach.”

Undoubtedly, Verstappen would rather be racing at home this weekend but when asked about the prospect of coming back to racing the Dutchman added, “Of course, we are very much looking forward to going racing again once it is safe. We were all very much looking forward to having a home grand prix in the Netherlands but hopefully later in the year or whenever it’s possible to race again we can get that started.”

Enjoy the racing, from the comfort of your couch of course.
