Street League Returns for 2021 Championship Tour

Skateboarding’s Premier Competition Ups the Ante with Elite, Hand-Selected Roster and Streamlined New Format, Culminating with SLS Super Crown World Championship

Announced today, Street League Skateboarding is back and will be bringing the best skaters to a three stop format beginning in SLC in August.

Following skate’s Olympic debut in Tokyo, Street League is once again primed to push progression while going back to its roots. Reframed as the SLS Championship Tour, the League is returning to its original roster size, with a hand-selected field of the world’s best skaters and the biggest personalities in street skateboarding. This elite group of men and women will battle it out in three events over the course of four months, all for a chance to top the podium at the pinnacle of competitive street skateboarding, the Super Crown World Championship.

The 2021 SLS Championship Tour will kick off in Salt Lake City, Utah on the weekend of August 28th followed by a Miami, Florida stop on the weekend of October 30th. The Tour will finish with the SLS Super Crown World Championship, taking place in Jacksonville, Florida the weekend of November 13th. Look for more venue and event details, including how fans can purchase tickets to witness skateboarding history in the making, coming soon.

In addition to raising the stakes with the return of its reduced roster size, SLS will update its contest format, simplifying the competition to create more urgency and excitement for skaters and fans alike. More details on this will be announced as well.

New blood will also have an opportunity to join the top ranks. In July, SLS will host a pre-season invitational Tour Qualifier at Paul “P-Rod” Rodriguez’s Primitive Skatepark, the first contest to be held at the skateboarding icon’s new private facility. A chance to earn a spot on the 2021 SLS Championship Tour roster and go up against SLS’ invited Pros will be up for grabs.

Following a press conference to break the news, Rodriguez remarked about Street League’s new chapter. “It’s exciting to see SLS reconnect with the vibe and the energy that made it the biggest championship in skateboarding. From the beginning, SLS is where the best skateboarders in the world set the standard.”
