We're saddened to learn that our friend Robert "Russell" Brown of Russell Surfboards has passed away at the age of 63. Russell was an integral part of the surfing scene in Newport Beach, supplying boards to locals and visitors through a shop on Balboa Blvd that was always inviting for a hang and a recap of the morning's session. Myself and many of my local friends from Newport Beach have been riding his sticks almost exclusively through our surfing careers. He will be missed greatly.
